Here's the important stuff You need to know. No worries, I'll go over all of this with you during your first appointment & revisit it as needed.

  • Messages left after business hours, on weekend / holidays will be responded to the next business day.

  • I accept payment in the form of: Cash, American Express, Visa, Discover, Master Card, and checks. Health Savings Accounts and Flex Spending Accounts also accepted. NOTE* There is a $35 return check fee.
  • I have a 24-hour cancellation policy.  Any appointment canceled less than 24 hours will be subject to full session charge.  Allowing more than 24 hours of notice enables me to provide that open time to another client in-need.

  • Appointments will begin promptly at your scheduled time.  If you are running late, please call to let me know.  We will end our session at the regularly scheduled time even if you are late. I book appointments back-to-back and therefore cannot impede on another clients appointment with me. You will be charged the full fee for that session.

"NO SECRETS" couples policy

This one often makes people nervous, and understandably so, but try not to freak out about it. Take a deep breath and keep reading.

We will discuss this in our first session to make sure everyone is clear on the policy and understands when, why, and how it is used.

Here's the short version. When I work with couples, the relationship is the client. I will see the couple together first and gather a couples history and discuss your goals as a couple. Then I will meet with each partner for an individual intake session to gather their personal history and goals, then the 3 of us meet again and we launch ourselves into couples therapy. Sometimes I may need to see one, or both, of the partners individually again. If something is disclosed in an individual session that I believe is clinically important, relevant, or essential to the proper treatment of the couple, then Ineed to be able to exercise my clinical judgment. The purpose of the "No Secrets" policy is to ensure that I am not placed in a situation where I would have to terminate treatment due to a conflict of interest (i.e., the individuals interest is not consistent, in alignment, with the interests of the couple). During our first meeting I will give examples of several situations where this could come into play. Some secrets are allowed, others are not. This isn't a black or white issue. Most often the "secret" is something the partner can work on and bring into the couples session.

Participants in couples therapy are required to sign a "No Secrets" policy with me.
