Individual therapy involves meeting with me one-on-one for the purpose of reducing internal suffering, which may occur in the form of problematic behaviors, beliefs, feelings, and the sensations that occur in the body. By addressing thoughts, feelings, and/or behaviors causing stress, individual therapy is an opportunity to work toward a sense of well-being and to create positive changes in one's life. Ongoing psychotherapy is a common and useful means of self-growth and self-actualization for many people. Individual therapy is an important part of recovery from anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues, helping to reduce symptoms and increase healthy coping skills. Therapy is tailored to meet your individual needs. You are invited to not only speak to what's problematic in your life, but also what's right; your strengths, talents and resilience's, as well as the resources in yourself, in your support network, and in your environment. We talk about where and who you've been, but primarily focus on where you want to go and what you need to get there. It is common for me to assign homework to keep you working towards your goals outside our time together. Sessions can be either 60 or 90 minutes in duration.
