In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety.

Individual Therapy

Most of my clients seek help when their current way of dealing with life’s challenges no longer works for them. Individual therapy involves meeting with me one-on-one for the purpose of reducing internal suffering, which may occur in the form of problematic behaviors, beliefs, feelings, and the sensations that occur in the body. By addressing thoughts, feelings, and/or behaviors causing stress, individual therapy is an opportunity to work toward a sense of well-being and to create positive changes in one's life. Individual therapy provides clients the space to explore their interpersonal history and communication styles. Clients can apply valuable insights to their relationships, then watch relationships transform. Relationship work is one of my favorite areas for individual counseling.

Ongoing psychotherapy is a common and useful means of self-growth and self-actualization for many people. Therapy is tailored to meet your individual needs. You are invited to not only speak to what's problematic in your life, but also what's right; your strengths, talents and resilience, as well as the resources in yourself, in your support network, and in your environment. We talk about where and who you've been, but primarily focus on where you want to go and what you need to get there. It is common for me to assign homework to keep you working towards your goals outside our time together.
